How to get there

Hampden Park is situated in Rutherglen on the south side of Glasgow.

Glasgow Main Line Stations

Glasgow Central Station (map) Trains arrive in Glasgow Queen street mainly from the south and west of Glasgow. Trains arrive from Prestwick and Ayr in Scotland, London, Birmingham, Manchester in England. Trains to Hampden Park also depart from this station. There's a taxi rank just outside the main door.

Glasgow Queen Street Station (map) - Trains arrive in Glasgow Queen Street from the north and east of Scotland, and the east of England. Trains arrive from Aberdeen, Inverness, Perth and Edinburgh in Scotland, and Newcastle, York and London in England. A Taxi Rank is just outside the station to the right hand side. Glasgow Bus Station is located on top of the station. There are no trains from this station to Hampden Park.

There are no direct train links between the stations - the quickest way between the two stations is to walk.

Hampden Park nearest Local Train Stations

Mount Florida Station (map) is about a 5 min walk from the west side of Hampden. Trains run every 10 minutes or so from Glasgow Central Station, taking approx 10 minutes. Last train is at 2343.

Kings Park Station (map) is about a 10 min walk from the south side of Hampden. Trains run every 30 mins or so from Glasgow Central Station, taking approx 18 minutes. Last train is at 2321.

Queens Park Station (map) is close to many of the main pubs in the area - Pandora's is a cross the road from the Station. Its about a 30 minutes walk to Hampden.

Taxi's

Black taxi's in Glasgow are some of the cheapest in Scotland. Expect to pay around £8 for a taxi from the centre of Glasgow to Hampden - and that's for 5 people.

Bus

The busses in Glasgow frequently get stuck in the traffic near Hampden so are often avoided. According to the Hampden Park website the following busses will get you near to the ground:-

5 runs from St Enoch to Carmunock Road
31 runs from Stockwell Street to Letherby Drive/Cathcart Road
37 runs from Stockwell Street to Letherby Drive/Cathcart Road.
75 runs from Argyle Street to Aikenhead Road
89&90 are Circular Route buses which run past Aikenhead Road

By foot from the town centre

The journey is about 3 miles - about a 60 minute walk. You can see the Googlemap route here
